MAC Dita Von Teese Lipstick

Hi dolls,

Hope you had a jolly Christmas and that you enjoyed/are enjoying your holidays! Santa was very generous and gave me some Elvis memorabilia (will show you another time), books and MAC's new Dita Von Teese lipstick! Grazie mamma ;)

It's a well known fact that red lipstick is a lady's best friend and an absolute must-have item for a pin up girl. You can get away with no eyeliner and no blush but the lips must be painted red darlin'! The other day I took some selfies and thought ''Ugh. I don't look retro at all. I look so blah.'' Obviously it was because I had forgotten to put on my red lipstick!! I know, I know, you have to be happy in your own skin, but a little red lipstick never killed anyone. Well, certain shades do knock 'em dead....

Speaking of such shades, as described on MAC's official site, this recently launched, Dita Von Teese lipstick is ''a vivid red lipstick for the seductive spirit.'' Here is the lovely packaging; half of Dita Von Teese's beautiful face
is on the box and her signature is engraved on the actual lipstick:

In these pictures, for some reason, the lipstick looks almost brick red or orangey but in reality it has a pinkish-red hue to it. My skin tone is olive but I think this color lipstick will suit most skin tones. It's very flattering, both shade-wise and texture-wise. It's a matte lipstick so I'm impressed by how creamy and smooth the consistency is and how long lasting this is on my lips, without drying them. Unlike some lipsticks, this one enhances the shape of your lips!

Ciao bambole,

Sayonara labbra ''nude''!

There, I tried out all sorts of expressions and have come to the conclusion that I really like this Dita Von Teese lipstick by MAC. It's a glamorous, retro shade of red that is noticeable but not over-the-top and it's definitely not a trampy red. Personally, I find it a wearable red lipstick, that you can put on during the day, and not only when you paint the town red at night. This lipstick and my Rimmel Mayfair Red Lady lipstick are going to be my staple tubes. Sayonara naked lips!

Happy New Year everyone! Buon Anno a tutti!

1950s style Milkshake Brooch by Jess Collinge

Hi cookies,

As you can tell from the title of this post, I have something very sweet to show you ;) If you've been following my blog, you'll know by now that I'm a big fan of Jess Collinge (http://jesscollinge.com). Her one-of-a-kind creations are playful, nostalgic and absolutely adorable. Apart from being really talented and professional, Jess is also a real sweetheart. I highly recommend her shop. In fact, I'm always nosing around her Instagram and Etsy shop to see what she's up to. She's my favorite laser cuttin', glitter lovin' artist!

I've worn Jess Collinge's dazzling pineapple brooch here and here. And remember Fernando the Flamingo?? I wore the brooch in this post and he charmed all of you ladies too! :) Just when I thought things couldn't get any cuter, Jess designed and created the most gorgeous, 1950s style milkshake brooch, bar none!

WARNING: THE IMAGE YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS EXTREMELY CUTE

Milkshake, Rattle and Roll! Look at the incredible details: the shiny milkshake glass is a vibrant shade of pink, the cream on top is gorgeously glittery, the straw is striped and that ruby red, shimmering gem is literally the cherry on top!

A bit too happy. I think the milkshake went to my head!! :D
My chocolate milk fell in love too:
This is my growing collection of Jess Collinge's brooches:
Lucky Fernando the Flamingo, sipping a milkshake and nibbling a pineapple....
Christmas is 'round the corner and Jess has added some perfect items to ask Santa for. Oh Christmas Tree Brooch! Available here
The items below will be available soon at http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JessCollinge

Snowglobe necklaces and brooches! How unique is that??
Jess, who is obsessed with snowglobes couldn't find any to wear,
so she created them herself!

Ciao biscottini,

Ciao for now <3
